Programming Tips: Ideas for Simplifying Your Code

The Hidden Gems screencast is a series of live coding examples that share valuable insight into the product and inform you about things you may not know about. 

In last month’s screencast, we showed Managing Input Field Content, and demonstrated techniques on how to handle input-field contents using notifications and keyboardHook.  The examples demonstrated two techniques for making the field contents all uppercase while also showing some best practices.

This month’s Hidden Gems will discuss programming tips and ideas for simplifying your code. This screencast will give some quick ideas and tips to simplify your Smalltalk code. 

Some of the ideas may be obvious—much like a doctor saying to “eat healthy and exercise.”  But the results can be profoundly positive, so it may be a reminder to use them, or ideally, we give you some new techniques.
